December 5-12, 2026 | 12-person workshop
with Mosaic Artists Laurel True & Angie Talle

What we're up to

Seven days of Co-Creativity, community and joy.

This is an invitation to gather, explore your creativity and have FUN while making art in community.

In this small group immersive experience, you’ll collaborate with other creators to build a collective mosaic mural from glass, ceramic, and mirror — shaped not by a plan, but by what surfaces.

Join mosaic artists, Angie and Laurel, for a guided engagement in the vibrant beach town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, on the West Coast of Mexico. They'll guide you through the co-creation of a group mosaic mural from start to finish. No experience necessary this is the most joyful, accessible mosaic mural you'll ever make.

Your facilitators

Angie Talle & Laurel True

Angie and Laurel are two Midwesterners who each, at different chapters of their lives, landed in the studio of legendary Philadelphia mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. They learned: don't overthink it. Stay fluid. Let the work surprise you. They spent decades building their own practices before reconnecting on a series of large-scale murals alongside Isaiah in Brooklyn. Since then, they've continued collaborating — creating murals in Minneapolis and Philadelphia that honor the mentor who shaped them both.

bernadette Fox

Bernadette is your Experience Coordinator/Conceirge and is the reason you don't have to think about anything but yourself this week. Every detail — logistics, timing, transitions, the things you never see — is handled so your only job is to show up and be present.

laurel true

Laurel has spent over three decades creating public art with communities around the world. Working with individuals through participatory projects, workshops, and site-specific public art, she has co-created work that has changed the way people relate to the creative process.

She's a multi-disciplinary artist specializing in mosaic murals and architectural installations. As an educator her teaching practice focuses on the connection between creativity and well-being – helping people remember that creativity belongs to them. Laurel co-founded  Institute of Mosaic Art, a pioneering education and resource center on the West Coast.

Partnerships formed through True Mosaics Studio and her organization, Global Mosaic Project, have taken her to Latin America, the Carribbean, Africa, Europe and Asia- always with the same conviction: art is essential, and it's for everyone. Laurel is a long-time international retreat facilitator who loves to travel and bring people along with her into immersive creative experiences.

A week creating with Laurel is an invitation to trust your intuition, connect mind, body + spirit, and discover that your relationship to your creative energy can change how you move through the world. . See Laurel’s work here.

ANGela TALLE

Angela Talle is a co-founder of Spark & Stillness, where she helps people reconnect with the creative well that lives inside each of us. She believes that creativity is an innate part of being human, often buried beneath the noise of daily life. Through gentle, accessible practices rooted in real-world moments, Angie guides others to bring forth what's already within them — whether that means picking up a pen, arranging objects with intention, singing out loud, or simply pausing long enough to notice what moves them.

As a mosaic artist, Angie creates both large-scale public murals and small, intricate works — each piece shaped by her response to the world around her. She is especially drawn to moments of sadness and chaos, creating art that honors lives lost and offers beauty and comfort to those who grieve. Whether through a mural in a public space or a handwritten letter in a creatively adorned envelope, Angie brings care and intentionality to even the smallest gestures, finding meaning in the ways art can connect and heal. See Angie’s work here.

The collective mosaic mural experience

Co-Creativity, community and joy.

Join Angie and Laurel for an immersive week of creative engagement in the vibrant beach town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, on the West Coast of Mexico. Drawing on the same spirit of freedom and intuition they inherited from their mentor Isaiah Zagar, they'll guide you through the creation of a mosaic mural from start to finish. No experience necessary - this is the most joyful, accessible mosaic mural you'll ever make.

Working loosely and intuitively, participants will break tile, cut mirror, mix adhesive, and grout together — finding their way into the mystery and magic of spontaneous making. You'll leave behind a glittering mural as a gift to the local community, a celebration of collective expression and embodied joy.

But this week is about more than making. Woven throughout are inspiring group sessions centered on breathwork, gentle movement, and guided contemplative practices — tools for strengthening creative self-confidence, deepening self-trust, and soothing the nervous system. Opening circles will explore the importance of creativity in our lives: getting out of our heads, trusting ourselves, practicing nonattachment and beginner's mind.

All of this unfolds against the backdrop of a beautiful Mexican beach town, with cultural outings, luxurious local meals, and enough spaciousness for personal integration, rest, and discovery.

Pillars of the experience

Every day is designed to move between activation and rest — art exploration, creative instruction, breathwork, cultural immersion, and open space woven together so your nervous system has room to settle while your creativity wakes up. Everything is an invitation, and all activities are optional.

Intentional Structure

Twelve women, one shared mosaic installation, meals around the same table. This retreat is built on the belief that transformation doesn't happen in isolation — it happens when you create alongside people who are just as ready as you are.

Collaborative Energy

You'll be guided by Laurel True & Angie Talle, mosaic artists and educators with nearly 30 years of experience helping people reconnect with their creativity. They teach art as a practice of presence, intuition, and trust.

Expert Facilitation

A private home in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Mexico (airport PVR) just one block from the ocean with a pool, open-air gathering spaces, and the pace of a small fishing village as your backdrop. Every meal is prepared by a local chef with fresh, regional ingredients.
